Selectmen Minutes

September 1, 2020

Present:  Fred Woodhouse, Diane Callahan, Gary Backstrom

Call to order by Fred Woodhouse at 5:36 pm.

The Town Administrator gave an update on the Elections Grant - the paperwork has been submitted, but we need to determine if the Town is registered with the website.

Motion to approve the 8/18/2020 minutes (Woodhouse/Backstrom).  All in favor, motion carried.

Motion to approve the 8/24/2020 minutes (Woodhouse/Callahan).  All in favor, motion carried.

Reviewed a plan for a shed for Carl Adams, 431 Rte 123, M 3 L 2,  all setbacks are met.

Mr. Backstrom:

  • Received an email from Jack Ogren about tree branches obstructing the stop sign on Greenleaf Road.  Mr. Backstrom will contact the Road Agent.

Ms. Callahan:

  • Discussion about internet needs for families with school age children who need to do remote learning.  A question will be added to the internet questionnaire asking about adequate internet service for remote learning.  Mr. Woodhouse stated that the school district has given out hotspots.  Ken Callahan offered to open and close the Meeting House if it is determined that there is a need.

Nathan Rautiola, 293 Nashua Road, requested that the Board sign for an "as built" septic system.  There were no changes to any setbacks, the leach field was rotated 90 degrees.  After review of the revised plans Mr. Woodhouse signed the form for the State of NH.  The Board signed the revised plans.

The 9/15/2020 Select Board meeting will be held in the Old School House.

The Board determined that the broadband survey will be sent out as a mass mailing, and go out as an email blast.

Mr. Backstrom:

  • The Planning Board is going to review the zoning ordinance.  Mitch Call is having the ordinance printed out for the members to review.  There was discussion about making sure the version on the website is the same as the printed version.

Ms. Callahan:

  • Informed the Board that she had received a complaint that not everyone was wearing a mask at the 8/18/2020 meeting.  Mr. Backstrom and Mr. Woodhouse pointed out that there was distancing.

Meeting adjourned at 6:33 PM.
